Workspace takeover via unchecked owner-role assignment
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Privilege escalation in PraisonAI Platform before 0.1.4 allows remote authenticated users to grant arbitrary accounts workspace-owner access. The POST /workspaces/{workspace_id}/members route accepts member-level callers and passes body-supplied user_id and role values to MemberService.add without checking assignment authority. Any existing workspace member who controls or knows another platform user ID can plant an owner identity, enabling that account to read and modify workspace resources.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
