Unauthenticated code execution via ungated YAML module import
Published Jul 21, 2026 · Updated Jul 21, 2026
Code injection in Mervin Praison PraisonAI before 4.6.40 allows remote attackers to execute arbitrary Python code through a crafted recipe. Two AgentsGenerator tool-loading functions take module_path values from YAML and pass the referenced files to spec.loader.exec_module without validation or the local-tools gate. The network path requires a reachable legacy recipe server using its default unauthenticated, unrestricted GitHub-recipe settings; local configuration writers can trigger the same execution as the service account.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
