Code execution or crash via unchecked allocation arithmetic
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Integer overflows in ITK before 2.7.1 allow remote attackers to execute code or interrupt service through crafted XML input. The bundled Expat functions addBinding, build_model, defineAttribute, lookup, nextScaffoldPart, and storeAtts calculate allocation sizes without overflow checks. Exposure requires an application to pass attacker-controlled XML to the bundled parser; wrapped sizes can produce undersized allocations, memory corruption, code execution, or a crash.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
