Use-after-free in Ubuntu Linux kernel 6.8 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through AppArmor notification handling. Ubuntu's AppArmor SAUCE notification code modifies a linked list without acquiring the required lock, permitting a race to retain access to freed memory. An unprivileged local account can trigger the race; Canonical describes the resulting arbitrary kernel code execution and privilege escalation as theoretical.
