Application hang via wrapped QuickTime atom size
Published Mar 24, 2026 · Updated Mar 24, 2026
Integer overflow in the parse_qt function in ART before 1.25.12 allows local users to hang the application with a crafted QuickTime file. The parser adds an untrusted 32-bit atom size to the current file offset without rejecting wraparound, so processing can cycle indefinitely. Exploitation requires the application to process attacker-supplied input, and the documented consequence is an application hang.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
