Process crash via circular precomp references
Published Jun 4, 2026 · Updated Jun 4, 2026
Uncontrolled recursion in Samsung Open Source rlottie allows local users to crash a consuming process with a crafted Lottie JSON file. Circular precomp asset references cause renderer::CompLayer::CompLayer() to call createLayerItem() recursively without cycle detection until stack exhaustion. Exploitation requires a user to open or process the malicious animation, and the resulting SIGSEGV terminates the consuming process.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
