Arbitrary file write via profile snippet traversal

Relative path traversal in Visual Studio Code before 1.123.2 allows remote attackers to write files via a crafted profile import. The profile snippet importer uses each untrusted snippet name to construct a destination path without validating that the resolved path remains inside the snippets directory. Exploitation requires a user to import a crafted .code-profile file and permits writes to any location writable by that user, enabling configuration tampering or code execution.
