Cookie disclosure via cross-origin redirect retention
Published Jun 2, 2026 · Updated Jun 2, 2026
Origin validation error in aio-libs aiohttp before 3.14.0 allows remote attackers to read per-request cookies via cross-origin redirects. The request redirect loop in aiohttp/client.py clears cookie headers when the redirect origin changes but retains the cookies parameter and reapplies those cookies to the new origin. Exposure requires an application to pass sensitive cookies per request and follow an attacker-controlled redirect; integrity and availability are unaffected.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

Attacks
What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
