IMAP command injection via unvalidated arguments
Published Jun 22, 2026 · Updated Jun 22, 2026
Command injection in Ruby net-imap before 0.5.15 and 0.6.0 through 0.6.4 allows attackers to issue arbitrary IMAP commands via crafted input. Net::IMAP#id accepts CRLF in hash field values, while #enable converts arguments with #to_s and sends them verbatim without atom validation. Exploitation requires an application to pass untrusted data to these client methods; injected commands can alter or delete accessible mailbox data.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
