CVE-2026-47240

IMAP command injection via unsupported literals

Published Jun 22, 2026 · Updated Jun 22, 2026

Command injection in Ruby net-imap before 0.5.15 and 0.6.0 through 0.6.4 allows attackers to issue arbitrary IMAP commands. Affected raw arguments send non-synchronizing literals without first verifying that the IMAP server advertises LITERAL+, LITERAL-, or IMAP4rev2. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled input to reach an affected method and a server that treats the rejected literal body as pipelined commands.
