Account takeover via poisoned magic links

Published Aug 6, 2026 · Updated Aug 6, 2026

Host header poisoning in Frappe Framework before 15.108.0 and 16.18.3 allows remote attackers to capture magic-login tokens. The temporary-link generator builds the emailed URL from the unvalidated request Host header, so a forged host substitutes an attacker-controlled domain. Exploitation requires the recipient to follow the emailed link; the resulting token disclosure enables account takeover.
