CVE-2026-47193Public exploitNetwork attack vector

Historical field disclosure via incomplete journal authorization

Published Jun 26, 2026 · Updated Jun 26, 2026

Missing authorization in OpenProject 17.3.2 and earlier and 17.4.0 allows remote attackers to read hidden historical field values. The Rails JournalsController diff action loads a journal by its supplied identifier and applies only broad journable permissions, omitting object-, journal-, and field-level visibility checks. Low-privileged access is sufficient, while unauthenticated access is possible for public projects; responses expose actual old and new text values but no integrity or availability impact.
