Unauthenticated organization enumeration via SSO membership lookup
Published Jul 15, 2026 · Updated Jul 15, 2026
Improper authentication in Vaultwarden before 1.36.0 allows remote attackers to enumerate SSO organizations via public endpoints. The organization-discovery handler looks up memberships for an arbitrary email and returns real organization names and UUID identifiers; pre-validation then issues a JWT from a supplied identifier without proving control of that address. Any network client can reach the flow, but disclosure requires an SSO-enabled organization and full account takeover is not established.
