Cross-user mailbox disclosure via ESEARCH oracle
Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026
Information disclosure in Project Cyrus Cyrus IMAP before 3.12.3 allows remote authenticated users to infer cross-user mailbox data. The ESEARCH command searches named mailboxes outside the caller's authorized scope and returns matching message UIDs, exposing folder names and a content oracle. Any authenticated IMAP account can probe named accounts, but the oracle does not provide arbitrary access to message content.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
