CVE-2026-47079Public exploit

Markup injection via preserved entity-like input

Published Aug 21, 2026 · Updated Aug 21, 2026

Cross-site scripting in XmlBuilder in Joshua Nussbaum xml_builder 0.0.6 through 2.4.0 allows attackers to inject markup via XML text. XmlBuilder.generate/1 preserves ampersands before five entity-like tokens in element text and attributes instead of escaping them, so a later XML parse turns filtered text into markup. Exploitation requires attacker-controlled input, serialization, downstream parsing, and an unescaped markup-sensitive sink; the chain permits content spoofing or script execution.
