CVE-2026-47074Public exploitNetwork attack vector

SNS signature bypass via attacker-controlled certificate URL

Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026

Improper certificate validation in ExAws.SNS 2.0.1 through 2.3.4 allows remote attackers to forge accepted SNS messages. The verify_message/1 path passes an unvalidated SigningCertURL to PublicKeyCache.get/1, which fetches and caches any supplied certificate before checking the message signature against it. Exploitation requires an HTTP endpoint that passes incoming request bodies to verify_message/1; accepted forgeries can inject notifications or alter SNS subscriptions.
