Privilege escalation via unrestricted frontend user groups
Published May 19, 2026 · Updated May 19, 2026
Broken access control in TYPO3 Frontend User Registration before 13.2.4 and 14.0.0 through 14.0.1 allows remote attackers to elevate privileges. The create and edit flows accept unrestricted user properties and assign submitted frontend user groups without an authorization check. No authentication is required when registration is enabled; a crafted account gains access to content and functions reserved for privileged frontend groups.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
Is a vulnerable build present?
Compare these published version ranges with your installed build and any vendor patches.
