Code execution via user-controlled model class loading
Published Jun 2, 2026 · Updated Jun 2, 2026
Unsafe reflection in Apache Calcite 1.5.0 through 1.41.x allows remote attackers to execute code through a user-controlled model. ModelHandler passes factory, driver, function, table, dialect, and statistic-provider names from model JSON directly to reflection without a ClassNameFilter check. Exploitation requires an embedding application to accept an attacker-controlled model or model connection property and a usable class on the host classpath.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
