Authenticated Direct Message disclosure via missing permission checks
Published Aug 3, 2026 · Updated Aug 3, 2026
Authorization bypass in Misskey 2025.3.2 through 2026.5.3 allows remote authenticated users to read limited Direct Message data. The Direct Messaging API endpoint returns message-related data without enforcing the requesting account's permission to access it. A low-privileged account is required; federation state does not change exposure, and specified-visibility notes are excluded.
