Administrator session compromise via unescaped search keyword
Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026
Reflected XSS in emlog 2.6.13 and earlier allows remote attackers to execute JavaScript in an administrator's backend session. The admin user search route passes the keyword parameter through addslashes, then admin/views/user.php inserts it into an input value attribute without HTML encoding, allowing a crafted value to form a script tag. An administrator must be signed in and follow the crafted link; the resulting script can read accessible session data or perform backend actions with that administrator's privileges.
