Unauthenticated review tampering via empty secret key
Published Apr 10, 2026 · Updated Apr 10, 2026
Improper authentication in Customer Reviews for WooCommerce 5.103.0 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter reviews via its REST API. The create_review_permissions_check function strictly compares the supplied key with ivole_secret_key but accepts empty strings when order metadata is unset. An unauthenticated request can therefore create or modify reviews for unrelated products, and the default moderation setting publishes them automatically.
