Authentication bypass via MSISDN LDAP injection

Published Sep 15, 2026 · Updated Sep 15, 2026

LDAP injection in Open Identity Platform OpenAM before 16.1.1 allows remote attackers to obtain an authenticated session without a password. MSISDNValidation concatenates the request-supplied MSISDN into an LDAP search filter without escaping metacharacters, allowing selection of an arbitrary matching user. Exposure requires an enabled MSISDN module in a reachable realm authentication chain; the default empty trusted-gateway list admits all traffic.
