OAuth scope escalation via unenforced ACL restrictions
Published Jun 23, 2026 · Updated Jun 23, 2026
Incorrect authorization in NocoDB before 2026.04.1 allows remote authenticated users to exceed an OAuth token's assigned scope. The OAuth token strategy records oauth_scope and oauth_granted_resources on the request user, but the ACL middleware never checks them. A restricted token must already map to a privileged user; it can then read data allowed to that user across routes, including org-level endpoints outside its granted base.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.

What attackers are doing with it
Daily unique IPs observed by Shadowserver honeypots for known exploited vulnerabilities (KEVs). Missing observations do not establish an absence of attacks.
