CVE-2026-46542Network attack vector

Process crash via invalid Ed25519 curve points

Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026

Denial of service in Nimiq nimiq-keys 1.3.0 and earlier allows attackers to crash wallet processes via crafted multisig public keys. The Ed25519PublicKey::delinearize() path unwraps failed curve-point decompression after construction validates only the 32-byte length, causing a panic for bytes outside the Ed25519 curve. A wallet user must include an attacker-supplied key in a multisig operation; node, validator, consensus, and networking code do not reach this client-side path.
