CVE-2026-46522Network attack vector

CPU exhaustion via zero-length compressed MIFF input

Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026

Infinite-loop denial of service in ImageMagick 7 before 7.1.2-23 and ImageMagick 6 before 6.9.13-48 allows remote attackers to exhaust CPU. ReadMIFFImage repeatedly feeds zero-length compressed input to BZip2, LZMA, or zlib after an unexpected end of file instead of aborting. Any network-facing service that processes an attacker-supplied MIFF file can pin a worker or process core indefinitely.
