Service interruption via undersized LZMA output buffer
Published Jun 10, 2026 · Updated Jun 10, 2026
Out-of-bounds write in ImageMagick 6 before 6.9.13-48 and ImageMagick 7 before 7.1.2-23 allows local users to interrupt processing. WriteMIFFImage sizes its compression buffer from BZip2 and ZIP maxima but omits LZMAMaxExtent before writing LZMA-compressed MIFF output. Triggering requires a user-involved local workflow that selects LZMA compression for MIFF output; no confidentiality or integrity impact is published.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
