Unauthenticated donation status modification via unchecked AJAX handler
Published May 2, 2026 · Updated May 2, 2026
Missing authorization in ThimPress FundPress 2.0.8 and earlier allows remote attackers to alter donation statuses through an AJAX request. The donate_action_status() handler accepts sequential donation IDs and arbitrary status values after checking only its schema marker and required POST fields. No login, capability, nonce, or ownership check is required, so attackers can corrupt donation workflow state and trigger related notifications.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
