Secret prediction via uniqid-based salt generation
Published Jun 5, 2026 · Updated Jun 5, 2026
Weak salt generation in HAXTheWeb HAXcms (PHP) before 26.0.1 allows remote attackers to predict installation secrets. The install.php script concatenates four PHP uniqid() outputs when creating SALT.txt and the private and refresh private keys, although uniqid() is not cryptographically secure. The values are generated during installation; predictability exposes confidentiality, while integrity and availability effects are not reported.
