Unauthenticated Elasticsearch reads and deletes via unprefixed headers
Published Jul 6, 2026 · Updated Jul 6, 2026
Authorization bypass in Apache Camel allows remote attackers to read or delete Elasticsearch documents through crafted HTTP headers. ElasticSearchRestClientConstant assigns unprefixed names to five control headers, so HttpHeaderFilterStrategy passes attacker values to the producer, which uses them instead of configured queries and operations. Exploitation requires an affected HTTP-facing route to forward untrusted headers to camel-elasticsearch-rest-client; no credentials are required.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
