CVE-2026-46439Public exploit

Command execution via recursive unsandboxed template rendering

Published Aug 14, 2026 · Updated Aug 14, 2026

Server-side template injection in OSCAL Compass Compliance-trestle before 3.12.2 and 4.0.0 through 4.0.2 allows attackers to execute commands. The render_template method in trestle author jinja loads rendered output into a new unsandboxed Jinja environment and renders it again, turning template syntax in SSP or lookup-table data fields into executable expressions. Exploitation requires an operator or automated pipeline to render attacker-controlled data through a trusted template, and commands run with the process user's privileges.
