Filename disclosure via all-interface SSE binding
Published May 26, 2026 · Updated May 26, 2026
Information disclosure in xyproto Algernon 1.17.6 and earlier allows remote attackers to read file names and edit timing over SSE. The handleFlags default leaves host empty on Linux and macOS, and finalConfiguration passes it to JoinHostPort, binding SSE port 5553 on every interface. Auto-refresh must be enabled and the attacker must have adjacent-network reach; the stream reveals watched paths and change timing but cannot write files or interrupt service.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
