Revoked privilege retention via stale user cache
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Improper privilege management in Budibase before 3.38.2 allows remote authenticated users to retain revoked roles for up to one hour. The public role-unassignment handler writes user changes through bulkUpdate to CouchDB without invalidating Redis entries that authentication reads first. Exploitation requires an Enterprise deployment, revocation through the public API, and an already cached session; admin-UI revocations are unaffected.
