Authenticated file writes via task name traversal
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Path traversal in Microsoft UFO 3.0.1-4-ge2626659 allows remote authenticated users to write fixed-name log files outside the log root. BaseSession interpolates task_name into logs/{task}/ without validation, then os.makedirs and FileWriter create directories and three fixed-name logs at the resolved path. Authenticated HTTP or WebSocket task submission is required, and writes are limited by the UFO server process account.
