Path traversal in Microsoft APM before 0.13.0 allows attackers to overwrite writable Windows files through a crafted local tarball. The _looks_like_legacy_apm_bundle function calls raw tar.extractall without rejecting Windows absolute member names before classifying and rejecting the bundle. Exploitation requires Python 3.10 or 3.11 and user interaction to run apm install on the supplied archive; writes carry the invoking user's privileges.
