Process crash via unchecked selector escape index
Published Jul 16, 2026 · Updated Jul 16, 2026
Improper array-index validation in Tom Wright Dasel 3.0.0 through 3.10.0 allows local users to crash a process via a crafted selector. The parseCurRune escape handler increments past a trailing backslash inside a quoted selector, then reads p.src[pos] without checking the slice bound. The selector must reach the vulnerable tokenizer; the resulting Go panic interrupts only the invoking process unless its caller recovers.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
