Stored XSS via raw search result rendering
Published May 15, 2026 · Updated May 15, 2026
Stored XSS in phpMyFAQ before 4.1.2 allows remote authenticated users to execute JavaScript through poisoned search results. search.twig renders result.question and result.answerPreview with raw after SearchController.php decodes entities following tag stripping, restoring executable markup. FAQ editor privileges are required to store the payload; any visitor who searches for the poisoned content, including an administrator, triggers it in the browser.
