CVE-2026-46324

Local privilege escalation via RCU hook-list race

Published Jun 9, 2026 · Updated Jun 9, 2026

Race condition in Linux Kernel netfilter nf_tables allows local users to escalate privileges through concurrent hook teardown and dumps. nft_netdev_unregister_hooks and __nft_unregister_flowtable_net_hooks unlink RCU-walked hook entries with list_del(), permitting concurrent dumpers to access freed or corrupted list objects. Exploitation requires CAP_NET_ADMIN, including within enabled user and network namespaces, and can expose or corrupt kernel memory or trigger a kernel panic.
