CVE-2026-46278

System crash via incorrect debugfs private pointer

Published Jun 8, 2026 · Updated Jun 8, 2026

NULL pointer dereference in the PowerVR DRM driver in Linux kernel 7.0 through 7.0.3 and 7.1-rc1 allows local users to crash the system via debugfs. pvr_fw_trace_debugfs_init supplies a pvr_fw_trace pointer to trace_mask, while pvr_fw_trace_mask_set interprets that private data as pvr_device and dereferences invalid fields. The driver and CONFIG_DEBUG_FS must be present, and debugfs is root-only by default; a successful write produces a kernel Oops.
