Service interruption via CoreSight mode race
Published Jun 3, 2026 · Updated Jun 3, 2026
Race condition in the Linux kernel CoreSight TMC-ETR driver allows local users to interrupt service by racing sysfs and perf modes. The sysfs path allocates its buffer and enables hardware in separate locked regions, so perf can install etr_buf between them and make tmc_etr_enable_hw() hit WARN_ON(). Exploitation requires local low-privileged access, Arm CoreSight TMC-ETR hardware, and concurrent sysfs and perf enablement; the reported consequence is availability loss without data disclosure or modification.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
