CVE-2026-46262

Local task hang via recursive controls lock

Published Jun 3, 2026 · Updated Jun 3, 2026

Improper locking in the Linux kernel ASoC fsl_xcvr driver allows local users to hang a kernel task through an audio control write. fsl_xcvr_mode_put() takes a read lock on controls_rwsem while snd_ctl_elem_write() already holds its write lock, deadlocking the same thread. Local users need low-privileged access to the affected fsl_xcvr ALSA control; the result is a hung task with no reported data exposure or modification.
