Kernel-memory corruption via incomplete probe cleanup
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Use-after-free in the MPC52xx SPI controller driver in Linux Kernel allows local users to corrupt kernel memory after probe failure. The mpc52xx_spi_probe() registration-error path continues into cleanup without freeing irq0 and irq1 or synchronously canceling queued work, leaving callbacks able to access freed driver state. The condition requires local access, the affected driver, an MPC52xx SPI controller, and controller-registration failure; interrupt resources also remain leaked.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
