CVE-2026-46212

Kernel memory corruption via premature claim release

Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026

Use-after-free in the Linux kernel batman-adv BLA subsystem allows attackers on the same mesh segment to corrupt kernel memory via crafted frames. batadv_bla_del_backbone_claims() calls batadv_claim_put() before its final claim-object access, allowing batadv_claim_release() to free the object too early. BLA is enabled by default, and unauthenticated processing of a mismatched-CRC ANNOUNCE claim can expose kernel memory, corrupt control flow, or panic the system.
