Kernel memory corruption via duplicate UAR cleanup
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Double free in the vmw_pvrdma driver in affected Linux Kernel releases since 4.10 allows local users to corrupt kernel memory. pvrdma_alloc_ucontext() calls pvrdma_uar_free() on an error and then invokes pvrdma_dealloc_ucontext(), which releases the same UAR again. Reachability requires a local low-privileged user, an active vmw_pvrdma device, and an allocation error; the duplicate release can crash the kernel or corrupt memory.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
