CVE-2026-46178

Local RDMA resource exhaustion via leaked SRQs

Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026

Resource leak in the Linux Kernel RDMA/mlx4 driver allows local users to exhaust hardware SRQs through failed SRQ creation requests. When ib_copy_to_udata() rejects the response buffer after mlx4_srq_alloc(), mlx4_ib_create_srq() takes an error path that omits mlx4_srq_free(). Reachability requires local access to an RDMA uverbs device backed by mlx4 hardware; repeated failures consume finite hardware SRQs and interrupt RDMA service.
