CVE-2026-46142

Host hang via VF read of PF register

Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026

Denial of service in affected Linux Kernel releases allows local users to hang the host during Wangxun VF initialization. In wx_sw_init, the VF path reads PF-restricted WX_CFG_PORT_ST instead of obtaining the bus function with PCI_FUNC(pdev->devfn). The flaw requires a Wangxun virtual function to initialize on the affected host; the illegal register access then hangs the system.
