CVE-2026-46138

Kernel-memory disclosure and hang via unchecked BIS handles

Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026

Out-of-bounds read in Linux Kernel Bluetooth allows adjacent attackers to disclose kernel memory or hang the system via a crafted event. hci_le_create_big_complete_evt reads ev->bis_handle beyond ev->num_bis, then repeatedly finds an unchanged BT_BOUND connection while holding hci_dev_lock. Exploitation requires a Bluetooth controller to supply fewer BIS handles than bound connections or num_bis=0, causing adjacent heap disclosure and an unresponsive system.
