Remote kernel memory corruption via queue teardown race
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Race condition in Linux Kernel allows remote attackers to trigger duplicate NVMe/TCP queue release by opening and immediately closing a connection. nvmet_tcp_handle_icreq() overwrites DISCONNECTING with LIVE or FAILED after teardown, bypassing the release guard and issuing a second kref_put() on a released queue. Exploitation requires a reachable NVMe/TCP target and precise ICReq/disconnect timing; the duplicate reference drop can corrupt kernel memory and interrupt the host.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
