CVE-2026-46123

Guest disclosure and crash via unchecked RX length

Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026

Memory handling errors in the Linux Kernel virtio Bluetooth driver allow attackers to disclose guest kernel data or crash the guest. In virtbt_rx_work(), skb_put() accepts the backend-supplied used length without checking it against the 1,000-byte buffer, and zero-length completions still reach virtbt_rx_handle(). Reachability requires a malicious or buggy virtio Bluetooth backend controlling a Linux guest; oversized lengths include unwritten heap bytes, while empty or excessive lengths can crash the guest.
