Kernel memory corruption via stale Bluetooth connection
Published May 28, 2026 · Updated May 28, 2026
Use-after-free in the Linux Kernel Bluetooth subsystem allows local users to corrupt kernel memory through asynchronous BIG creation. The create_big_sync path queues BIG creation without holding an hci_conn reference, and create_big_complete dereferences the freed connection after teardown. The path requires local low-privileged access and Bluetooth ISO/BIS support; the documented consequence is a stale-pointer dereference in kernel context.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
