Local service interruption via premature state transition
Published May 27, 2026 · Updated May 27, 2026
Race condition in the md-llbitmap subsystem of Linux Kernel allows local users to interrupt service through write or discard activity. The llbitmap_start_write() and llbitmap_start_discard() paths called llbitmap_state_machine() before raising their barrier, allowing the state machine to complete first. Reachability requires low-privileged local access and md-llbitmap activity; the documented consequence is availability loss only.

Exploitability
Present is not the same as exploitable
Compare your product and version with the public record. A matching version still requires validation against your environment.
